Vonage receives prestigious commendation for innovative Vonage for Facebook® app

At the prestigious ITSPA Awards (Internet Telephony Services Providers Association) 2011 on March 7th, Vonage was recognised amongst industry leaders by receiving a commendation in the Most Innovative VoIP category for its 1.2 Facebook® app.

The app is free to download and free to use. It aims to give end users the ability to connect to Facebook® friends through additional voice calling.

The easy to use app allows users of Facebook® to make free calls to all their Facebook® friends who have the app, anywhere in the world directly from their friends list, free and with a single touch.

It works with 3G/ 4G networks and is available via WiFi in 87 countries for Apple and 48 countries for the Android™ marketplace worldwide.

The advanced technology means that there is no need to remember screen names or input numbers, users simply click on a friend and start talking.

The ceremony, which took place at the BT Tower in London, played host to the UK's leading industry experts, parliamentarians and trade journalists who highly commended the new mobile Facebook® app.

The app is free to download and can be used directly through users' handsets. It can be used across all Android™ technology as well as the iPhone®, iPod Touch® and iPad®.
