Robert Lundin's commitment to his job never flags - even when he's out of the country. He works as a regional director for an education charity. And he loves his job, which is in Birmingham, UK.
And Robert is also a Phd student. Every few weeks, he has to attend tutorials and seminars linked to his studies. Which is at home in Texas, America.
Robert, 30, moved to the UK in 2007. "I was concerned about how I would stay connected with my friends and family," he says. "I was also on a budget. Vonage was the best solution. I save at least £40 a month."
He signed up for V-Plan 4, then bought a Virtual Phone Number with a Houston code. "My friends and family can call me for absolutely nothing. It's wonderful."
Robert also uses two extra Vonage add-ons.
First, the Vonage Softphone. With this, he can make and receive calls from his laptop. He uses a connect card to pick up his work broadband connection (Vodafone). This means he can use Vonage Softphone pretty much anywhere, not just in wifi hotspots. "It amazes my family," he laughs. "I plug in the headset and call them from a train in Scotland, to describe the view."
While he was In Houston, Robert scheduled a daily staff meeting with colleagues back in Birmingham. Professionally, nothing slipped. "Vonage is a great tool for people on the go," he says. "If you want the flexibility to access anywhere in the world at a moment's notice, it's ideal."
