Care Skilled are a small business of expert trainers and consultants to the Health and Social Care sector. They enable Local Authorities, Not for Profit and Private Sector care providers to deliver the highest quality care services.
A few years ago the company’s director, Dave Baldwin, decided to shut the offices completely and move to a fully virtual business model, saving the business over 20k per year in overheads. Vonage was to become the telecoms element of their new working model.
Problem – A costly, unprofessional calling system
The company purchased Vonage to overcome a number of challenges. These included presenting a professional appearance to business callers, reducing the cost of the telephony solution, supporting the telephony needs of an expanding business in the UK and avoiding being tied down to a long contract in an uncertain business environment. They also wanted to use smartphones and landline phones on the same service with one bill.
Solution – Vonage business calls at home and travelling
Care Skilled decided to trial Vonage and were so pleased with the service that they make it a permanent solution. Today the company uses Vonage for business calls from home and when travelling, as well as personal calls from home. They also make use of Vonage Extensions to make calls on their smartphone when in the UK.
Results – Improved relationships and significant financial savings
Various departments have benefited from the improved telephony service and overall improved call quality, with customer service and sales seeing the greatest improvements. As a consequence of switching to Vonage the company is now saving over £500 per year on phone bills. Add to this an improved relationship with customers and suppliers, improved communications between team members, and everyone agrees that Vonage was definitely the right way to go.
On his experience of Vonage, Dave concluded, “It’s cheap, reliable and allows for mobile working with the company number from anywhere in the world.”
